Knitted in aran weight yarn, the Rose Thorn Headband is a useful and stylish accessory for the colder months, especially for those “messy bun” days. It’s slipped stitch patterning in particular, helps to create a really cosy fabric, that’s perfect for keeping your forehead and ears toasty warm.
The headband is partly named after Ann Bronte’s wonderful quotation above, which reminds us that we can’t have beautiful handknits without putting in a bit of (hopefully enjoyable) “work”!
Luckily, knitting the Rose Thorn Headband pattern is neither a chore nor “work”, as it’s a super quick knit, making it perfect for gift knitting!

A kit for a super quick knitting project, with cosy aran-weight yarn from Jamieson & Smith, in colour combos hand-picked by Maddie.
The perfect present for an adventurous beginner or more experienced knitter. Alternatively make yourself a warm headband or 2 (you'll be able to make 2 headbands from the kit by swapping the colours)
The Rose Thorn Headband is knitted flat in two halves, joined after knitting. An I-cord is worked for the ties, followed by a short increase section before working straight. The headband come in two sizes (but is adjustable due to ties), suitable for head circumference of between 51 cm / 20" and 61 cm / 24" (please see schematic in photos). Sample shown size M/L on head circ. of 58.5cm.
The pattern includes written and charted instructions and has been professionally edited.

2 x 50g of Jamieson & Smith, Shetland Aran Worsted (aran-weight; 61m / 66 yds per 50g ball; 100% Real Shetland Wool)
1 ball in main colour
