PLEASE NOTE

I AM UPDATING PRODUCT BOXES FOR JEWELLERY AND DECORATIONS WHICH WILL TAKE AWHILE, IF YOU PURCHASE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN THE NEW BOXES AS DESCRIBED BELOW.

Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.

The idea is to create something new from old, found by chance, full of history and character. To present and deliver unique Eco Friendly gifts in Sustainable Packaging.

I love collecting ceramic discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. Favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-worked and crafted into something new. Bits and bobs found by chance waiting to find new homes.

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Additional terms

Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each titled piece comes with bio of where the ceramic came from, known history, original information and when the artwork was created. Some ceramics collected are used as found, while others are cut randomly which will shape the final picture. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Created from ceramic discovered

in River Tees near ‘the meetings of the waters’

January 2021

Hand Crafted into pendant February 2021

In January 2021 while out walking the banks of the River Tees, Barnard Castle, Co Durham I came across a small concentration of broken bits of pottery. A common practice of shoring up a river bank is to use hardcore that often has household ceramics crushed in.. Some bits will remain where dumped but a lot will move with the river which adds to the experience of discovering.

I found this chunky piece of pottery in the river Tees very near ‘the meetings of the waters’ Rokeby, Barnard Castle. An unusual warm day for January and the river was calm, the meetings of the waters is where the river Tees and Greta join together.

This shard is double sided with a blue and white pattern, 7mm thick which suggests it was more than an ordinary plate, possibly a jug/vase. I prefer to keep the original appearance as much as possible. Front and back crackle glaze. Distinctive and unique, one of a kind.

An old discarded pot that broke many years ago found by chance in a river starts a new life as a pendant. Unique, one of a kind and full of history.

The pendant is hanging on non leather woven cord, 44cm plus 5cm extender.

Shard measures approximately 30mm x 30mm x 7mm.

Delivered in gift box with gift bag made from recycled materials and short bio.
