My daughter suggested that the beautiful water lily flowering in my garden pond would make a good suncatcher. I designed this based on that flower and then gave it to my daughter for her birthday.
Liked it so much that once she had seen hers, I made another and I've made and sold a few more since.
I post this piece lst class, signed for to provide cover as per Royal Mail value limits.

Full description
A stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A brand new design in summer 2017 and I think it is quite stunning and very special.
It is a 'picture' of a lovely Waterlily, bright pink.
I made the central yellow nugget in my kiln especially for this flower and have added some differently coloured speckles having studied my real waterlily which obligingly was flowering as I was making this..
I've added 5 outer petals in bright green, some large iridised blue green leaves below the flower and infilled the top with streaky green and blue glass for water.
The suncatcher is in the form of a ring which I've encircled with twisted wire for strength and neatness. It's 6 inches in diameter.
This suncatcher has 40 pieces, each individually cut, very carefully shaped to fit like a jigsaw, copper foiled, soldered together then washed and polished.
This is beautifully bright, simple and cheerful and casts lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
