A stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique. A Tulip Ring, a picture made in glass.
A brand new design in summer 2025 and I think it is absolutely stunning and very special.
It is a 'picture' of beautiful Tulips, red, amber and yellow, with strappy green leaves and stems. The surround a pretty blue glass. The tulip picture is then framed with a paler green textured glass border.
Quite exquisite if I may say so myself, as I handcrafted this piece myself with love and extreme care to detail.
The tulip heads are cut from 4 different shades of textured glass which gives the picture lots of movement.
The suncatcher is in the form of a ring which I've encircled with twisted wire for strength and neatness. It's 19.5 cma in diameter and weight 310g so is quie substantial.
This suncatcher has 45 pieces, each individually cut, very carefully shaped to fit like a jigsaw, copper foiled, soldered together then washed and polished.
This is beautifully bright, simple and cheerful and casts lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window. It also looks rather stunning against the wall as a picture.
It hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top. I recommend it should be hung from a permanently located hook as it is quite heavy but I do supply it with two strong suction hooks..
