I cut and polish my own fordite, surfite and bowlerite, I'm happy to take commissions.

Full description
These drop earrings have subtle drops of boatite which has been bezel set in sterling silver and finished with simple hooks. The boatite has a pattern of teal blue speckles on a cream back ground which really hints at its paint heritage. Boatite is lightweight so they are not heavy in the ears and could comfortably be worn all day, they measure approx 43mm top to bottom by 18mm across. The earrings have been finished with simple hooks (if you'd prefer kidney wires then let me know and I'll swap them over). Comes gift boxed.
Boatite is the name given to the cured build up of paint that forms in boat yards (I like to think of it as fordite's maritime cousin). It forms layer by layer, in this case you can see the paint spray spatterand I liked the colour combo so much I decided to preserve the flat surface layer rather than dome the material. This boatite formed in the Larson boat yard in the 60's hence the retro, vintagey colour scheme (the back is tan and mustard!). I cut and polish this material myself (you can see the rough in some of the photos, its not included in the sale) so if you would prefer something else then drop me a message.
