These Bud vases have been designed as if a free standing, three dimensional painting, inspired by a grassy stretch of the local landscape where I stay, evoking a feeling or memory of a walk along the Scottish coastline.
Each one thrown with the same weight of clay, but each one unique, so have been listed separately.
Just the right size to fit on a mantle piece or shelf, showing off a few flowers, leaves or dried seed heads from the garden, or have been found when out walking, depending on the season, but equally attractive when empty.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Thrown on the potters wheel, these posy vases have been dried carefully before being placed into the kiln for an initial firing.
Layers of oxides such as red iron, manganese and chrome help to pick up out details in the heavily textured surface.
Bands of alternating stoneware glazes are painted, poured and brushed over the porous clay surface, evoking a landscape feel of land and sky, before being placed back into the kiln for a high temperature stoneware firing.
The mix of oxide and glazed, areas create matt, satin and a glossy feel,to the surfaces of the completed vases.
This vase measures 7cm in height approx 5cm wide at the base and just over 4cm wide at the top opening.
Designed by Susan Wade - French in Falkirk, Scotland.
