I attended an online workshop for slow stitching and just fell in love with the idea of hand sewing a piece of textile art from tiny pieces of fabric which would otherwise be thrown away. Absolutely thrilled with this piece and hope it brings someone much joy.

Full description
This book cover is created from small pieces of fabric, mainly Liberty prints hand stitched to a calico back cloth with a variety of stitches in polyester thread or embroidery floss.
The word ‘Notes’ is chain stitched in blue embroidery thread on the front of the cover and decorated with hand made Suffolk puffs with cream button centres and several pieces of lace and a flower embellishment taken from a vintage piece of fabric.
The edges are bound with handmade bias binding in a lavender Liberty print and machine stitched in place.
The edges of each piece of fabric have been left raw but stitched securely in place and there is no backing so all stitching can be seen if the cover is removed.
This unique piece comes with a 110gsm, 80 page sketch book, and measures 8x6 inches, 20.3x15.2cms. The book cover can be reused when the sketch book is full.
The bookmark is made from 2 pieces of clear vinyl with a piece of lace and part of an old tape measure sandwiched between them and machine stitched in place.
