When I purchased this machine stitched scene it was obvious I wouldn’t be able to keep the circle so decided to border it with an Iris style border and it was perfect for making into a little tote bag.

Full description
This bags started life as a piece of machine stitched art that had been framed. When I purchased the piece the white surround was covered in glue so I decided to frame it with a country flower themed fabric in an Iris style and use a border in a green floral to complete the look.
The back of the tote is a piece of batik cotton in shades of green mauve and gold and the fake bamboo handles are attached to the bag with fabric straps and metal studs.
The cotton lining is a sky blue colour to complement the theme of the bag.
This bag uses recycled fabrics and items purchased from charity shops and is a one off piece.
