This top-down shawl is worked using a “double-pass” method, which helps to blend the colours of the yarn in single row stripes through garter stitch, stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch sections. This technique is fully explained.
Provided that you weave in your ends neatly, Only Connect is fully reversible!

Have you ever fancied having a go at dyeing your own yarn? It's super easy with this exclusive kit in partnership with Leona-Jayne of www.rustyferretyarn.com using Kool-aid power!
Kool-aid is a great way to dye yarns as it uses an acid dyeing technique, acid reacts with protein fibres to set the dye. But unlike other dyes, the kool-aid already contains the citric acid. Which means it's excellent for beginners or for quick dyeing.
Not sure what you'd knit with your yarn? The kit includes Maddie's Only Connect Shawl pattern, which was designed especially to go with Leona-Jayne's workshop!
INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
- 3 x 50g skeins UNDYED yarn (4ply; 100% Blue-Faced Leicester superwash; 200m per 50g)
- 4 sachets of Kool-aid (Strawberry Kiwi, Black Cherry, Blue Raspberry Lemonade, Grape)
- a printed copy of Leona-Jayne's dyeing instructions (for solid colours, variegated yarns & speckled yarns)
- 12 months access to (2 hr) recording yarn dyeing workshop
- a copy of Maddie's Only Connect Shawl pattern
Other things required for yarn dyeing (not included):
- use of a stovetop, oven or microwave, and a sink
- saucepan/ovenproof dish/microwave dish
- something to stir with (wooden or metal spoon)
- something to lift hot yarn out of pans (e.g. tongs/forks)
- dishtowel or oven glove
- teaspoons
- measuring jug/something to pour with (old milk bottle or cup)
