Full description
This white version of the much loved cockatiel has been made using a needle felting technique. Woollen fibres have been sculpted into shape using a barbed felting needle. Coloured merino wool fibres have been added to the surface and wings and tail added. The beak is formed from silk clay and the feet from wool wrapped wire. Black acrylic half pearls have been used for the eyes. A needle felted perch mounted on a rustic wooden slice completes the ornament.
This cockatiel measures approximately 28cm (11") from head to tail, slightly smaller than life size. The complete ornament measures approximately 30cm (12") tall.
Many hours of work have gone into making this cockatiel as life like as possible. He is fairly robust but will not withstand constant handling or rough treatment and is not suitable as a toy.
