Full description

Some kinds of flat glass break into shards, and we collect these from beaches for our icicle pendants and necklaces. We love the shapes of the pieces of glass, which we tumble so they are finely frosted and pick up the light. Two of the pieces in this lovely necklace are white, and the centre piece is the pale aquamarine colour of old bottles. This colour was common before white glass could be made cheaply. The right hand piece of glass has a mark on the back which is typical of glass which has been broken and tossed around by the waves, but the piece is still perfectly strong. This pretty necklace would look great against many colour backgrounds.

The necklace is based on a fine silver plated trace chain and is 42 cm (approx. 17 inches) long. The longest piece of glass is 3 cm long. If you would prefer a shorter or longer necklace please let us know the length you would like.

Our jewellery is individually hand made in Chudleigh, Devon. We collect our materials ourselves, mainly from local beaches. Each piece of glass is unique, so each necklace is unique. We only use materials which have rounded edges, which is why we tumble pieces which have rough edges (this continues the process begun by the waves) until they are smooth.

The necklace will be delivered by first class mail. We usually post items within one working day of receiving payment.
