At the moment I am not able to accept orders from Northern Ireland or to ship there. Apologies to those in that part of the UK.
I love the Bronze Age bowls and pots seen in museums, with their simple shapes and use of texture. The black clay adds to that ancient look, and my intention was to try to recreate the appearance of an archaeological find.

This striking textured bowl can be used as a stand-alone piece of art, a posy bowl, a houseplant pot, or to hold your keys, pens, buttons or all those other little things we accumulate as part of everyday life. I handmade the shape from black stoneware clay, texturing a wide central band while the clay was still soft, and finishing the top rim with two little rolled circlets of clay. The inside is glazed with a finish that fires red in parts, to add an exciting touch to the interior. The outside has a little touch of glaze at the top, but the main part is left unglazed to give a matt natural clay finish. Because the outside is natural clay, it’s not intended for food use, so no milk and cornflakes please! Called Tara, the bowl is 11 cms high and 10 cms diameter across the top.
