Full description
This stunning artisan pen is hand made on Orkney using pieces of crab claws and carapace held within the blue-green resin. The beaches around Orkney frequently have empty crab shells lying around, as the crustaceans shed their old shells as part of their natural growth. Another little piece of Orkney beach treasure, this pen is "top loaded" - the twist mechanism is mounted inside the top finial of the pen. The rounded barrel has a slight taper towards the tip, which brings the balance of the pen more towards the top. The top-mounted twist mechanism is amazingly smooth to operate, and the wide finial gives an easy grip to operate it. The metal components have an antique silver plate finish with stainless steel accent rings and clip. It uses a standard Parker refill, which is changed by simply unscrewing the tip section - take care not to loose the small spring! The pen is 123mm long, about 16mm at its' widest and weighs 42g.
The price includes post and packing.
