Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
I love collecting discarded. Anything that looks lost, forgotten, damaged and not wanted any more. Favourite places to discover bits are rivers or beaches. I am lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. Another amazing place is recycling centres where for very little I can rescue an old pot or plate. Charity shops have so many interesting pieces, bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Shards Hand crafted using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final item, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated. Everything is hygienically prepared, ceramics cleaned and materials handled following Covid rules. Every piece is individual and catalogued with a capital S for Shards and a numbered referring to order of process. Nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Created from ceramic plate discovered August 2020
Re-Created into Earrings December 2020
In August 2020 I bought a box of broken ceramics from a recycling centre in Barnard Castle, Co Durham. It was filled with chipped and cracked plates perfect for trying out new ideas.
These earrings are made from a decorative tea set which included a wall plate. The ceramic is mainly white with multicoloured rims. As I clipped the plates many similar shaped shards were created, these two caught my eye.
Lovely striking colour, unique dangly earrings, sterling silver 925 fish hooks and jump rings.
The idea is to create something new from old. The finished piece isn't meant to be perfect or highly polished, instead keep its original character and remain unique.
Delivered in box, gift bag made from recycled materials and includes a short bio.
