I love this upcycled piece and only wish I knew its history. Were the stains caused by a spilt cup of tea and who sat and carefully embroidered this scene? It has been a joy to sew and I only hope that in another 50 years it may be found by someone else and pieces used to create something new, now wouldn't that be wonderful.

Full description
This upcycled zipped pouch is created from one half of a tea tray cloth I found in a charity shop. The worn white linen has a delightful picture of a crinoline lady shaded from the sun with a sunbonnet cutting roses in a beautiful summer garden with the path leading on to a sundial.
The embroidery is not fine but is well sewn in shades of pink, green, blue, yellow, gold, white and grey. There are a couple of stains on both sets of hollyhocks which have not come out in the wash but I like to think they add to the charm of the piece.
The back of the bag is made from a piece of cream calico and I have not over pressed the piece as I do not want it to look brand new.
A pink nylon all purpose zip has been colour matched with the roses and a detachable zip pull with a silver metal scissor charm has been added. The pink cotton lining has a small flower print in white. A band of cream french lace runs along the top of both sides of the bag and completes the piece.
