Full description
A cheerful pink and orange kite dancing against a patchworked summer sky is the centre of the design on the front of this hand-stitched glasses case.
The background of this glasses case has been created from machine appliqued strip patchwork on a plain fabric base. The kite shape, cut from bright pink and orange felt, has been appliqued in place and enhanced with hand embroidered white polka dots, and embroidered tail of bows and a stitched string.
The case is lined in a striped and floral fabric, backed with iron-on interfacing. The reverse of the cover is a blue and white striped canvas fabric. The case is seemed with blanket stitch in a crochet cottons for durability, blue and green used for different parts of the design in order to tone. The case closes with a crocheted loop - using the same blue cotton thread, over a vintage button.
