A spectacles case featuring a pretty wild meadow. This glasses case has been entirely hand-stitched.
The front of this glasses case has been made from 'eco' felt - produced from recycled plastic bottles. Using a grass area and blue sky have been felted to the background using an embellisher machine. Snippets of yarn, saved from other projects, and scraps of hand dyed wool fibre, have been felted to the background to represent meadow plants. Simple hand embroidery stitches have been used to create meadow flowers such as clover and daisies.
The case is lined in a green and white striped fabric and inter-lined with interfacing. The reverse of the cover is a blue and white striped canvas fabric. The case is seemed with blanket stitch in crochet cottons for durability, blue and green used for different parts of the design in order to tone. The case closes with a crocheted loop - using the same blue cotton thread, over a grey button.
