Full description
This brooch measueres 70mm by 40mm. It is mounted on a 26mm brooch bar soldered to the copper base. The pin secures with a rotating catch.
After building up a base coat of red over several layers of clear enamel on the copper shape I then fired rods of turquoise, black and yellow over it and when the piece was ared hot, in the kiln, I drew through these with a steel tip to generate the pattterns you see. Thewre is a textural element to the brooch where the enamel has set smooth but not flat on the surface. This also creates an interference with the play of light on the piece, adding to its complexity.
The brooch will be sent in a soft cloth drawstring bag; Colours available are red, black, purple or pink. If you have a preference please indicate this when ordering.
