Art has always been a passion of mine, with painting being my area. I love how an image in the mind or in person can produce such variations. I get quite excited when I first put paint to canvas… The possibilities are endless! Sometimes I have a solid idea in my mind and other times I simply see what happens. I think that comes from being a self-taught artist. For me, it is about more than producing an image, it’s about the process and the therapeutic benefits that comes with creativity.
My inspiration comes largely from nature and the vibrant displays that are produced throughout the seasons; from the first burst of new life in spring, through the busy hum of summer and crisp autumn, to the tranquillity of snowfall in winter; it is hard not to be impressed by what the natural world has to offer. Walking our dogs, Reggie and Coco, proves very useful for generating inspiration, especially at the local nature reserve. For 17 years I lived on the Lincolnshire coast, England. Being so close to the sea was a gift in terms of inspiration and I often produce ‘memories’ in the form of seascapes. Again, the force and passion of the natural world is hugely influential in my work. Most of my works are expressive in nature, reflective of my urge to capture the thought, idea or moment before something else grabs my attention…. Usually a squirrel!
When I’m not painting, I am either feeding squirrels, making and creating, or writing in a variety of genres.

I bought this incredible miniature of a cottage by the sea painted on the inside of a sea shell as a gift and I know it will be treasured. What a beautiful, unique, piece of art. The item is fragile but was securely packaged using recyclable materials. I loved the thank you note from the artist and the whimsical postcard she enclosed. Highly recommended!
