About Pete's Designs

Pete's Designs

Pete. AKA the man in the hat. Designs items of jewellery plus greeting cards, stickers and vinyl projects.

Hello! I’m Pete, better known as "the man in the hat," I'm 75 years young.

Several years ago, life threw me a plot twist I wasn’t expecting. An industrial accident left me with a spinal injury, and the doctors solemnly declared, “You’ll never walk again.” Well, I wasn’t having that!

With sheer determination (and a little stubbornness), I proved them wrong. Though I’m not exactly sprinting marathons, I manage to shuffle about—albeit with a few creaks and groans.

Since returning to work wasn’t an option, I needed something to keep me occupied (and to stop me from getting under my wife’s feet). That’s when I discovered crafting. My wife has always loved earrings, so I thought, why not try making them myself?

One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was creating jewellery, greeting cards, stickers, and vinyl projects. Turns out, crafting is quite addictive!

Every piece I create is a labour of love—though my spinal injury does its best to keep things interesting. My work is more than just handmade items; it’s a mix of resilience, creativity, and a dash of mischief.

So, have a browse! Every purchase helps keep me busy, gives me a sense of purpose, and—most importantly—stops me from accidentally reorganising the kitchen just to see my wife’s reaction. (Let’s just say, that experiment didn’t go down too well.)
