Hello, I'm Sally and Mary & Dolls is my creation, and I'm very proud to say so!

I design and make jewellery pieces using recycled materials. I take broken jewellery and turn it into something new and functional, saving it from ending up at the landfill. I thoroughly enjoy what I do, going on a journey with each piece to create a new one of a kind item.

I offer the majority of my earrings as clip on or with nickel free wires so everyone is included.

So how did M&D come to be? Let me tell you a story...

Before running this business I ran another one - The Obsessive Gardener which as you can probably guess from the name didn't sell jewellery, it was in fact a mail order plant business. Plants are very much a seasonal business and so I needed something to cover the winter months when plant sales were pretty much non existent. I've always been creative and so having a sideline along these lines made perfect sense so after a lot of consideration I began making jewellery and selling it on eBay. I called this branch of the business The Jewellery Shop at The Obsessive Gardener - catchy huh! My circumstances changed and I was no longer able to sell plants but continued with the jewellery side of things and decided to grow that. The name no longer made sense so I decided to rename and therefore rebrand my business which is when it Mary & Dolls was born.

Why Mary & Dolls?

I wanted a name that meant something personally to me so this took a while. Not wanting to name it after myself I chose a family related name and named my business after my Grandmothers' - Mary and Doll (this is a nickname). A lot of people assume that my name is Mary and my helpers are my 'Dolls' but that's really not the case! My logo also reflects this choice of names - Marys favourite flower was a violet hence the purple flower in the logo, Dolls favourite colour was cerise pink which is why the heart is that colour. Teal is my favourite so this filled in the rest.
