Lorategi was founded by me, Russell Davidson in 2017. From a young age I have always been interested in art but never really followed this passion..... I think this probably started after I had a tiger picture published in Aberdeen Art Gallery at the tender age of 5! However for the past 10 or so years I have been creating mosaics that we have displayed in our house such as tables, pictures and flower pots.
During the last few years, my friends and family have encouraged me to follow my passion and to create this mosaic venture known as 'Lorategi' which means 'garden' in Basque. This Spanish influence comes mainly from my wife, who was born in Spain within the Basque region, and also from travelling around large parts of Spain during the last 20 years.
During these visits I have always loved how they displayed mosaics around the house and in the garden creating a beautiful atmosphere in the interior and exterior of the house.
