Hey I'm James and I'm the founder of Kiel Leather. My little adventure into the handcrafted leather goods world.

I started Kiel after looking for a minimalistic cardholder / Wallet made from genuine high quality leather that was affordable. Struggling to find this, I bought a basic leather craft kit and set about making my own. Doing this showed me how much I enjoyed creating craft and after much persuasion from my Wife and wider family, I start Kiel Leather.

The name Kiel came from my sons name Ezekiel which means strength, one of leathers strong attributes.

Most of my items are made using Badalassi Carlo Pueblo or Wax leather from the fabulous Badalassi Tannery. The Patina affect on this leather is incredible and after a while your own unique piece will tell a story.

Each item I produce is completely handmade. Cutting, stitching and burnishing, ensuring that each item is finished to my high standard and should last a lifetime.
