Formerly from North East Scotland I grew up in a home where knitting and sewing were commonplace and learned those skills at a very early age. Mothers and grandmothers passed down their expertise to the girls in the family. I remember my first attempt at knitting as a small girl - a long scarf type object with many holes where stitches had been dropped. A first attempt at a "lacy" pattern perhaps. Over the years I grew more experienced and enjoyed knitting, from aran type jerseys to intarsia knitting which I did for a Welsh designer company using various textures and yarns. Very time consuming but rewarding. Seeing the patterns emerge was great but sewing in the ends on the reverse was never ending! Living in a fishing community, families were very proud of their boats and mothers would provide me with a photograph of their boat which I copied onto jumpers for their sons using intarsia techniques. Now living in Tayport, Fife and retired, I have three wonderful grandchildren and I find myself turning again to knitting to pass the dark winter nights. I like to knit something different but useful and will include baby's jackets, children's novelties and of course the famous Lavender Ladies from time to time. I am a firm supporter of our local Foodbank and if any of my products sell, a contribution will be put towards this very needful work.

I bought this for my husband as we've just purchased a caravan. He loves it especially when it's filled with a chocolate orange.
Exactly what I wanted. Something hand made and a little different. Very pretty daffodils.
