I started making wooden crafts when I was living in Mexico before I moved to England. I used to buy craft magazines in USA with lots of patterns and they came with an explanation of how to paint the patterns if they were transferred onto wood.. Being the only shop doing that kind of crafts, I became very successful by word of mouth. Therefore people started coming to my shop to buy materials or staying for a workshop. Later on schools found out and they started placing big orders for class projects. When I came to this country I tried to do the same but it was very difficult so I decided with the help of my husband to go back to University and study visual communication. After graduating, I became a designer and illustrator. So now instead of copying from magazines I create my own illustrations, textures etc and use them in a wide variety of designs and products. Right now my main activity is to illustrate children's books and book cover design.
