Welsh Sea Glass Jewellery

Hello and welcome to Cerrig Môr.

My name is Sarah and there is nothing I love more than the beautiful coast of West Wales. I moved to Aberystwyth a couple of years ago with my Labrador, Dora, to be with my partner. He introduced me to the idea of wandering the beach searching for sea glass. Before long we had jars of beautiful beach treasure in our kitchen. I then began to make a few pendant necklaces from our stash sea glass for myself and friends. Everyone loved them! From there Cerrig Môr was born.

Each piece of sea glass is unique in it's colour, shape and transparency. Here in West Wales we mostly find white, green, sea foam and blue pieces of glass. These pieces have been tossed and tumbled by the sea, finally ending up on the beach amongst the pebbles. The collected glass is then washed, drilled and oiled ready to be set in silver. I work with sterling silver findings and chains to produce an elegant finished design.

My jewellery designs are deliberately simple to enhance the natural beauty of the sea glass. Each piece of jewellery is made by hand here in my studio. If you have purchased a piece of my jewellery I hope you have as much pleasure wearing it as I have had in collecting and creating it.
