Inspired by the textures, natural forms and shapes in my environment , I use a combination of metals to make individual , colourful , textural jewellery.

I always look forward to spending time sitting at my bench drawing, designing and making jewellery using silver, copper , brass, gemstones and occasionally local sea glass.
Driven by the Arts; I did a degree in Fine Art in the eighties and have since spent many happy years teaching Art and Design.
Always fascinated by jewellery, I decided to learn how to make something for myself, so completed a couple of short courses in silversmithing. Armed with loads of lovely books, I started using copper to practice my skills, but after being constantly thrilled by the results of heating copper , with unpredictable shades of red, orange and purple, I kept it as an integral part of my work. I am now also using verdigris processes to produce blues and greens to extend the colour pallette. The colours and textures produced by these processes make a great contrast with silver and brass.
I love the textures of the beautiful moss and lichen of ancient woodland and the strata formations found in the rocks and cliffs along the shoreline . I want to bring together these textures with the contrasting smooth stones, slate and driftwood , in my Welsh surroundings, into what I make.
My ''studio' is the end of the kitchen table,with a great view out to the Preselis hills, where I always hope to create something individual , that will hopefully make someone as happy to wear as I was as happy to make.
