I AM AN ARTIST BASED IN HERNE BAY KENT, CREATING UNIQUE HANDMADE AND HAND PAINTED ACCESSORIES

The fabric accessories are made from calico which is dyed and sewn together before painting. I am often influenced by the patterns appearing in the dying process before deciding on the image to be painted. My designs are inspired by nature, animals, birds
, fish, flowers and shells and by art styles from around the world. Living on the coast, I often choose seaside themes for my pieces. Once the painting is completed, I might add, printed linings, braid trims, beading, embroidered lace or applique details, depending on the item.
I rent a shop space in nearby Westgate on Sea, where I sell my fabric design as well as beaded jewellery and decorative items.

I work from my home, where I live with my husband and share a conservatory studio with my daughter (also an artist). it's great to be overlooking the garden while I work, watching it change through the seasons. I also love to walk by the sea to clear my head and find inspiration. I practise yoga (almost) every day. And yes, I have two cats....
