Written in Silver began in 2008 when we moved from Somerset to Cornwall. I worked as a teacher for many years and Steve was an educational psychologist. We saw our move to Cornwall as a chance to live in a different way, to our own rhythms. We now live in a little cottage tucked away on the side of Trencrom hill with an acre of garden. We have chickens, cats and dogs and try to grow as much veg as we can save from marauding slugs and snails. Our workbench is in the cosy kitchen and with music playing , a cup of coffee and quiet companionship, it is a great place to create our jewellery.
We use sterling silver, semiprecious stones and touches of gold. Our jewellery is simple, beautifully made and well finished. We take great pride in what we do and we want people to be delighted with the pieces that we have made.
I am fascinated that gemstones have been used as charms and talismans across time and cultures and I’m happy that our jewellery continues, in a small way, to add to that tradition.

I love buying jewellery from Written in Silver - so far I've only bought presents so I really should treat myself to something from them soon! The ring is beautiful and arrived in time for me to give it to my sister for Christmas - she loved it.
