About The Cosy Hook

The Cosy Hook

Beautiful and cosy items make home better.

Crocheting is just in my veins, as both of my grandmothers were accomplished crocheters. Indeed, I have the lace gloves my grandmother made for her wedding day, and yes I love to take them out and put them on. But it was my very talented big sister who taught me to crochet when I was a child, although I was mostly terrible at it. I then picked up my hook again in my 20's when I had some free time and that was it. I used online tutorials to learn new skills and now I just hate to be without a selection of projects on the go.
These days I like to make hats for my 2 small children who love to choose their own yarn and lots of baby blankets for friends and family. As a teacher I am quite busy so crochet fits in perfectly and really does help me to relax in the evening. So, it becomes both useful for unwinding and still productive.
As a family we have a passion for reusing and recycling so I try to use up yarns rather than buy new all the time. This means the items I make are often quite individual and unique. And, I'll be looking for more ways to reuse and recycle in my work in the future.
