What to do with a pet parrot's feathers ...

I had lots of naturally shed feathers from Polly our pet parrot. I made a pair of earrings from them. The very first pair of feather earrings I made, and still wear, are the ones in the photo you can see above. I ended up making many more in various styles for friends and family, making them more elaborate and adorned with buttons and beads.

What to do with lots of extra buttons? Make more jewellery of course. This led to making button earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bookmarks and keyrings.

The beads gave me the chance to really elaborate. I love the Boho look and anything a bit out of the ordinary.

I love making unique pieces and have also knitted from being a little girl.

My hand knits and crochet goods are made from love and patience. Ladder scarves are knitted into the ladder keeping the yarn flat to give a uniform ladder effect. Linen stitch scarves are knitted on around 450 stitches on the needle at once and I don't use circular needles! Tea pot cosies are fun to make and beautiful to look at with flowers either in one colour or a colour theme. Scrubbies are very popular at the moment, helping the planet, albeit in a very small way.

I also handmake little boxes to put my jewellery purchases in. These are made out of any good quality, clean card I can find. Typically I use cereal, soup, tea, chocolate and coffee boxes, along with celebration cards that would normally be thrown away or recycled. I recycle them my way instead.

I do hope you see something you like and I thank you for looking x
