About Elm & Bee Art

Elm & Bee Art

Scottish artist, creating vibrant acrylic paintings, that blend the enchanting beauty of Scotland's landscapes and forests, with a touch of magic and fairy dust.

I'm Lisa a painter and fairy maker.
For as long as I can remember, I have felt drawn to seeing the secret places, between the veils, where fairies and mystical creatures might live. I have a background in costume design and upcycling vintage wedding dresses. However, after moving to Milton of Campsie, I turned my focus to trying to capture the magic of the countryside all around me at the foot of the Campsie Fells (crooked fairy hill).
As I explore my local landscape, I tune into my childhood wonder and seek out secret magical spots to inspire me.
I paint the woodlands, waterfalls and flower meadows of the Campsies adding my own vision of the fae and magical creatures that might hide there. As well as traditional paintings, I upcycle second-hand items and charity shop finds such as bottles, jars, mirrors, trinket boxes and candle holders with these enchanting scenes.
I create my own Fells Fairies (sculptures), from nature finds and upcycled fabrics. The tartan, tweed and other fabrics I use are frequently sourced from upholstery factories where it would otherwise be thrown away.
When I'm not lost in a world of art, you can find me donning one of my many pairs of cowboy boots, adding a touch of magic to everyday adventures, including line dancing, being a mum, and looking after my many pets.
I share my love for creativity by teaching engaging art workshops for both adults and children, where I encourage others to unleash their inner artist and explore the wonder all around.
