My name is Inga and I design and hand print natural fabrics in my studio in the Kinross-shire, Scotland

I am inspired by pattern, colour, texture, nature, Architecture and the Arts & Crafts movement, in particular Art Nouveau

I have always loved being creative and learned to sew at a very young age. Although my dream was to go to Art College, my life followed a different path. Many years later, I was at last able to follow my dream, and returned to studying, gaining a BA Degree in Art & Design, specialising in Interior Design

I have always enjoyed sewing and making my own soft furnishings and in 2014 started running Workshops teaching people to sew - Cushie Doo was born!

A few years ago I discovered block printing and screen printing and always having had a love for fabrics and colour, started printing my own designs onto fabric to create into a range of homewares and accessories. I love the whole process of hand printing - the mixing of the colours, the sound of rolling out the ink and then the excitement of seeing the printed pattern when you lift the block from the fabric.

I have also recently introduced a new product range which I call MIXT - a combination of Tweed woven on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, Scottish Linen woven in Kirkcaldy and Vintage Sari Silks. In old Scottish Dialect, MIXT means mixed, mingled or combined

I am passionate about doing what I can to help protect the environment. I source locally woven fabric and supplies wherever possible, which also helps support other UK based businesses. Working in my studio, my printing process aims to be as sustainable as possible, using water based inks and natural fabrics - and with as little wastage as possible - to produce textiles which I then hand make into homewares and accessories.

My aim is for my business to be sustainable and considerate for the environment ~ even my packaging is Eco-friendly, using recycled and recyclable materials
