The Curious Magpie
From a young age Hollie has always been a magpie for anything bright and shiny. As a child she was often found adorned head to toe in the entire contents of her Grandmother’s jewellery box.
Jewellery has always been one of her biggest passions and after many years of experimentation with different materials and techniques, she discovered her style and design voice and Curious Magpie was born.
Hollie has a 2.1 BA Hons in Jewellery Design and has over 10 years of experience at the jeweller’s bench. After living and working in London for the last 6 years as a Designer for a bespoke jewellery brand, she has returned to the Leicestershire countryside to do what she loves most – to design and craft beautiful and captivating jewellery.
Curious Magpie's first collection is called The Woodland Collection. Every piece in the collection is designed and handmade by Hollie in her studio and is inspired by woodland treasures and the rustic beauty of these natural objects. Using ancient Lost Wax Casting techniques, many of the pieces are created from an actual natural object such as miniature pinecones, acorns or twigs. This intricate process means that every single piece is completely unique and one of a kind.
Alongside the Curious Magpie designs Hollie also works on commissions and bespoke jewellery requests and has even attracted some celeb clients. She loves bringing a customers ideas to life and seeing a rough, raw idea develop into something beautiful and so meaningful and personal.
