I began creating my little Chep characters many years ago, and initially just drew them as funny things to give to my friends and family. Chep started out as my nickname as it means anything cute and/or small, and the true nature of a Chep is tiny! I am slightly obsessed with making and painting tiny things. I sometimes go through stages where I have to see how small I can go. My record so far, is painting onto a lentil :D
Colour plays a huge role in my art and creating pieces that are fun, silly and vibrant. I am very inspired by nature and try to incorporate plants, flowers, mushrooms and any other flora into my work. I absolutely love gardening and being outdoors, so that certainly has an effect on some of the little worlds I create. I love painting, drawing, and woodworking. The latter I would love to be able to commit more time to and learn a lot more about. One day hopefully I'll have the space to be able to set up a little workshop so I can dedicate more time to that. There are so many aspects to any type of art that I love, one of which is that there are no rules or boundaries which gives us the freedom to literally create anything we want within our means. That is another reason why my strange little style developed, I only ever seem to want to create things that come from my imagination. And as you can see, I do not specialise in realism!
