Artists are magpies... here is a shop full of shiny things, many of which are hand stamped with words that have caught my eye or my ear as I encountered them, and which I've carried away to add to my creative nest.
(Although of course I've tried very hard to avoid infringing anybody's copyright, trademark or intellectual property - please do let me know if I have inadvertently failed!)
If you have a favourite phrase, saying or out-of-copyright quotation and it isn't already here somewhere, just get in touch (there is a red 'contact' link at the top of this shop homepage) to commission a personalised spoon.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
A hand stamped vintage nickel silver alloy fruit spoon with the words 'THE DARK SIDE OF THE SPOON' inside one edge of the bowl. It's a plain 'old english' style spoon measuring approximately 14cm long. Great for ice cream, puddings, or as a small soup or cereal spoon.
You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. The lettering is stamped with vintage steel dies and coloured with a non-toxic and water-based ink. Wash carefully by hand as the colour is not indestructible - the lettering, however, is stamped into the metal and should last pretty much as long as the spoon does.
Please note this is a vintage spoon (I think it's 1940s to 1950s) so it does have scratches and wear marks although these in no way affect its functionality as a spoon and it is honestly shinier than my photos make it look. And as it's alloy rather than silver-plated, it's always going to have that wartime look, there's a slightly brassy tint to it no matter how much you polish it. I have reduced the price to a fiver and put it in the bargain bin anyway.
