Full description

Another addition to my Growing Old Disgracefully collection: a hand stamped antique silverplated dessert spoon with an original 'A' monogram on the handle, to which I've added the words 'you are never too old to eat jelly' in suitably wobbly lettering in the bowl. I hope this will bring a smile to someone you know who's growing older but not necessarily growing up!

The spoon is approximately 18cm long and has a traditional 'fiddle pattern' handle. It is most likely Victorian and is definitely starting to show its age, as you can see in the photos, but it's still a perfectly useable spoon whether for jelly or for anything else! It is in the Bargain Bin, where despite the vagaries of shrinkflation, tariffs, stock market fluctuations and the ravages of austerity everything is STILL only a fiver and all postage is always combined no matter how many bargains may happen to fall into your basket. Lasting joy for the price of a fancy coffee. Go on and have a rummage. You know you want to...

This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Hand washing recommended.

If you wanted a different spoon, or different words, please let me know, you can contact me via the little red 'contact me' link at the top of my shop home page.
