Workshops are held in my studio in Low Valleyfield, Fife, KY12 8TL. This is a ground floor premises and accessible facilities are available.
Who is this workshop for?
Age 16 plus. Designed to suit all abilities, from beginners to the more experienced. No previous sewing experience is required. Sewing machines will be available for those who want to use them, but hand sewing will also give beautiful results.
What will I learn?
Over the course of the day, you will learn how to build up a landscape using different fabrics to give texture, depth and colour to your panel. You’ll have great fun experimenting with different fabrics and enjoy diving into my scrap boxes to create a landscape from your imagination, from your memory or from a photograph of a much loved location. We will stitch these into place, either by hand or machine, then add details with hand stitching, embroidery, yarns and speciality threads.
What is included in the price?
All materials and tools. Hot drinks, cake and biscuits will be available throughout the day.
What do I need to bring?
An inspiration image - this can be a photograph you’ve taken yourself, a page torn from a magazine or a landscape dreamed up in your own imagination.
Packed lunch - there's a co-op fairly close by if you forget.
