The simplicity of the colours and design of this little vase help to make it stand out. It makes a great decoration either with flowers in it or just on its own. It can also serve as a candle holder for a pillar candle. It is really stable on its flat base.
It is approximately 16.5 cm across its hexagonal top with a base that is 6 cm in diameter. It is approximately 8 cm tall.
It is made from a hand-cut hexagon of white glass overlaid with a similarly shaped piece of clear glass. Flakes of coloured glass (confetti) have been laid out as flowers with glass rods (stringers) used to create the stems. An initial session in the kiln fuses everything together and smooths off all the sharp edges. A second visit to the kiln with the hexagon placed on a doughnut-shaped mould which is supported well above the kiln floor allows the glass to flow into this organic shape. This causes some of the coloured pieces to flow into different shapes down the body of the vase.
As the glass is chosen, cut and placed by hand this piece is unique and there will never be another the same as this.
All of our Fused Glass Goodies are designed and hand-made with care and love at our studio in Shropshire.
Please Note: This listing is for the posy vase only - the candle, glass rose and all other items appearing in the photos are props only and are not included.
