Garnet is the traditional birthstone for Capricorn and the month of January.
The term Garnet actually applies to a group of minerals that are related in composition and structure, but differ in colour.
The dark red that we most associate with Garnet is known as Pyrope Garnet, like the nuggets I have used here.
The lighter, more raspberry pink of the bicones is known as Rhodolite Garnet.
Garnet can also be found in green, orange, purple and black.
Garnet is the stone for the second wedding anniversary.

Clusters of dark red pyrope Garnet nuggets are bracketed by 5mm quality Austrian glass Pearls in a colour called 'powder rose' highlighted with 2mm sterling silver spacer beads
The pyrope Garnet is a deeper, darker red than the raspberry-hued rhodolite beads.
The Austrian shell pearls are a complementary shade of dusky pink and have a lovely sheen.
Shell Pearls have a glass core with a nacre coating.
The bracelet ends with a 4.5mm rhodolite Garnet bicone at each end, a trio of sterling silver beads to facilitate fastening with the silver plated toggle clasp.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon, UK, this would make an ideal gift for those born in January, as Garnet is the January birthstone, or as an anniversary, Mother's Day or Valentine gift.
This pretty bracelet measures approximately 6.5 inches (16.5cm), please contact me via the button below my shop banner regarding re-sizing.
