Hi and welcome to The Old Button Supplies, where I sell stunning vintage, preloved and new fabrics and haberdashery.
I also have another shop on Folksy - The Old Button Sews - selling beautiful gifts designed and sewn by me, together with some lovely sew it yourself craft kits.
Welsh quilts and blankets coming in a huge variety of colours and styles, varying from beautifully crafted heirloom pieces through to rough and ready utility pieces. Over the years I have found and bought many different examples, and use them in my home on our beds or to snuggle under on the sofa, repairing and darning as needed.
When they are just too damaged to use for their original purpose, I upcycle the fabric to make cushions or use in patchwork or applique projects. But I invariably end up with little snippets and scraps - far more than I can use........

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Full description
Gorgeous bundle of rare or iconic Welsh wool blanket and quilt scraps, sourced from across Wales. A piece of history, each set includes fabric fragments of antique hand stitched quilts, and snippets from woven wool blankets from vintage to retro to modern. Plus a traditional red and black Welsh ladies shawl of course!
These little pieces would make lovely cards for St David's Day, but are perfect for all sorts of crafting, including applique, slow stitching and textile art. Or just mount in a frames and display.
Your bundle contains 14 different wool or quilt pieces - sizes will vary slightly in each bundle, but range from 4x3 inches to 1x1 inch (approx). I will also add a skein of vintage tapestry wool and an information sheet I've written giving some of the background to these fabrics.
SCRAP FABRICS SOURCES:
2 x antique hand-stitched antique quilt - photos show both sides
- brown with fragmented top layer revealing inner wadding, less damaged reverse side
- pink and green stripe top, cream reverse, with tiny pieces of cotton husk in the wadding
2 x traditional pattern wool blanket
- bright check (varies)
- either another check or yellow chevron as shown
5 x plain wool blanket
- cream, thin loose weave
- green, very thick felted with age
- pink, thick and a bit felted
- cream, blanket stitch edge in some bundles
- tan, very thin and crinkly
1 x red and black shawl
4 x modern blankets in blue, grey and green/orange
