Full description
I handmade these toadstool mushrooms by needle felting, using 100% natural wool fibres. The three magenta (purple pink) toadstools are nestled in a bed of curly, pale lilac moss (wool fibres) which sit upon a green mossy mound.
This needle felted piece is mounted in a cute little wooden bowl, which adds to it’s delightful charm. These enchanting mushrooms have detailed frills and gills and adorable spotty caps.
100% natural wool fibres, apart from the bowl which is real wood.
Height: 12.2 cm
Width of cap: 8.2 cm
Width of wooden bowl: 5.7 cm
Needle felting is the process of using specially designed barbed needles to manipulate wool fibres into 3d objects, such as soft sculpture figurines, or into a solid fabric. It is quite a long process and patience is needed but it is so absorbing, very rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable.
One of the great things about my needle felted creations is that because they are made with natural wool fibres they are completely biodegradable and when their life as ornaments are over, they will break down naturally as organic matter.
