Growing up in rural Somerset trees held a fascination for me. Dad and I would either climb up them in the evening and wait for the foxes and badgers to come out or he would show me how to use them to find my way even after dark.
I don't think that I'm alone in seeing them as friends who were old when I was born and will hopefully still be standing proud long after I'm gone.
Look out for your local conservation group and spare some time to look after your old friends!

Full description
This atmospheric woodland landscape painting draws you along the forest trail into the heart of the Black Forest. Its painted onto canvas board and you can really feel the texture of the paint under your fingers as the eye is pulled in towards the light.
It's the end of summer and the days are getting shorter but the leave have not yet turned. Walking under these natural umbrellas you can smell the rain in the air and feel the change of seasons around you. This painting invites you to walk along the old rutted track under the dappled light and let your lungs take in the clean air while all your senses explore the world around you.
Dimensions: Painting is 40x50x0.5cm (15.75" x 19.75") and with the frame 55.5 x 45.5cm
