Full description
This 100% Leicester Longwool woollen yarn has been grown by our girls, Luna, Lia, and Emily. The yarn has a lustrous feel to it, and it has been professionally spun at a small craft mill.
The Leicester Longwool sheep is listed as endangered on the rare breed society pages.
The yarn has been spun as a double knitting weight and each skein weighs appropriately 100g and 240 metres in length. It knits up into lovely lightweight jumpers or shawls, and is in its natural grey colouring.
The shawl pictured takes 2 skeins of this yarn to produce and the pattern is called Braided Rye, by Melanie Rice.
