I love all cacti and succulents and I have quite a collection in my south-facing windows. I am drawn to their geometric patterns, symmetry and spirals of the cacti and the unusual shapes and plumpness of the succulents.
I wanted to recreate some of the ones I own, by needle felting with wool fibres. I even give them real terracotta pots which I think makes them look even more realistic.

Full description
This is a Sedum Crassulacaea succulent plant, needle felted with natural wool fibres.
Each of her many plump leaves are green and heavily blushed with a beautiful mix of peach, pink, orange and red. She sits in brown "compost" in a real terracotta plant pot.
Needle felting is the process of using specially designed barbed needles to manipulate wool fibres into 3d objects, such as soft sculpture figurines, or into a solid fabric. It is quite a long process and patience is needed but it is so absorbing, very rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable!
