Amethyst (purple quartz) is the birthstone for Aquarius and February, and the stone for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is also associated with St Valentine.
It was believed he wore an amethyst ring engraved with a cupid to enable young soldiers to recognise him.
Emperor Claudius 11, believing married men made bad soldiers, had forbidden soldiers to wed, but Valentine would conduct secret marriage ceremonies.

Cute hand made bag charm on a lobster clasp swivel clip that can be attached to your handbag, keyring etc.
Attached to the clasp are a genuine 14x5mm Amethyst nugget topped with a trio of Tibetan silver 5mm stars plus a real 8mm Amethyst heart topped with a genuine 3.5mm faceted Amethyst bead, highlighted with tiny sterling silver spacers.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon, UK, this would make a lovely little gift for Mother's Day, Valentine's, Anniversary or birthday.
