Being from a Glasgow family I would like to tell you about the Glasgow sindicate also known as Scottish & Australian opal mines ,they played a significant role in the mining of Koroit Boulder Opal. The syndicate was formed by Lawrence Rostrum whom discovered the Koroit Opal feilds in 1897,the syndicate carried out extensive mining operations working to greater depths and employing more miners in challenging conditions with lack of water they managed to produce significant amounts of Opal.The Glasgow syndicate was Known for its successful extraction of high quality Boulder Opals they helped establish Koroit as one of the most vibrant producing Opal feilds in Australia
