These dangly earrings feature semi circles of fordite which has been smoothly bezel, the earrings have been finished off with posts and scrolls which are hiding behind a semi circle of sterling silver (all the metal used is sterling silver). These fordite earrings measure approx 48mm from top to the bottom by approx 17mm wide. The fordite has a pattern of concentric rings in shades of white, red, black, silver and emerald green, some of the bands sparkle in the light. The drops are mounted with the straight side of the semi circle running vertically but hang with a slight curve. The drops were cut as a sister pair (ie side by side) so they almost match. Comes in a gift box.
Not come across fordite before? It is layers of cured paint that builds up in spray booths at vehicle factories where the paint misses the panel it is meant for, the paint gets baked in between layers leading to a durable material. This material is from the Kenworth truck plant in Chillicothe, Ohio, I bought the rough from a guy who works there, he had harvested it when they were doing a clear out in 2018. As painting technology has improved less fordite gets formed so if you love the idea of fordite but want something else - drop me a message whilst I still have a stash of rough from various vehicle factories. Since I cut and polish it myself I should be able to make what you want.
Measures 48mm by 17mm across and comes in a gift box.
