Full description

These drop earrings feature semi circles of vintage dodge fordite which hang from a silver stick a bit like a clock pendulum. The fordite has been bezel set in sterling silver and the earrings are finished off with sterling silver hooks. The fordite is a well matched pair with a pattern of concentric rings in shades of blue, red, white with a band of orange and yellow (some of the colours sparkle). The earrings measure 63mm from the top of the hook to the bottom by 33mm across. Comes gift boxed.

Fordite is the name given to many layers of cured car paint that builds up in spray booths at car factories. The paint gets baked hard in between each layer leading to a durable material that can be cut to show off the many colours. This particular material I have matched to the colour charts for Dodge in 1970 (yellow and orange are unusual colours so useful for matching to charts). I cut this material myself so if you love fordite but want something else making drop me a message. Vintage fordite is becoming increasingly hard to source and thanks to more efficient painting processes less fordite in general is being formed so if you love your cars get some of the unique material whilst you can.
