These drop earrings feature teardrops of fordite bezel set in sterling silver finished with simple sterling silver hooks. The fordite has a bold pattern of contrasting rings of white and navy/ black with an eye catching ring of yellow, the boldness of the colour palette meant I cut them a bit smaller than normal as it really stands out. They are a sister pair - the patterns don't match but the colour palette does so they make sense as a pair. They measure 42mm (from top of hook) by 16mm across, the fordite is thinner than normal for me making them really lightweight. Comes gift boxed.

Fordite is layers of cured paint that builds up on paint lines at vehicle factories where the paint misses the panel it is meant for. This over spray builds up getting baked in between each layer giving a hard material which can be cut and polished to show the colours. This material was sold to me as coming from a Harley Davidson motorbike factory, they do lots of custom paint jobs which makes pinning down a specific year difficult as lots of the colours don't appear on any of the official colour charts.
